June 11, July 23: Porter. Join a ranger for a 1/3 mile hike to the Bailly Homestead to explore this historic site and learn about the importance of our diminishing night skies. June 13: Crown Point. The NW Indiana Hosta Society will hold its Plant Sale and Hosta Auction from 1:30-4 pm in the Fine Arts building at the Lake County Fairgrounds, 889 S Court St. The Plant sale begins at 1:30 pm; the auction begins at 2 pm, free admission.
June 13, 26: Porter. Take a self-guided hike into Pinhook Bog, Indiana's only "true" quaking bog. Rangers stationed along the trail will keep you safe from the carnivorous plants.
